Sylacauga – Retired Sylacauga City and Talladega County Officer Matt Abrams was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, in 2023. Since then, life has changed tremendously for Matt and his family, and they are now facing the need to make updates to their home so it can be more handicap accessible and better suited for Matt’s needs.
Matt spent years serving and protecting others, and now our community has the chance to serve him. On Wednesday, September 16th at 5:00 p.m., Brown Butter Cafe will be hosting a fundraiser meal for Matt and his family. They will be serving until they are sold out, and proceeds will help go toward the home modifications his family needs.
The $20 Fundraiser Meal includes: Baked Spaghetti; Side Salad, Green Beans, Garlic Bread, and Butterfinger Poke Cake.
A $20 plate can become ramps, wider doorways, safer spaces, and a home that is easier for Matt to navigate. Grab supper for the family, pick up a few plates for your familiy and friends, nd help spread the word about Wednesday, September 16th, from 5:00 p.m. until sold out.
