Alexander City – CrimeStoppers has awarded Detective Brian Culligan as the 2025 Alexander City Police Department Crimestoppers Officer of the Year, recognizing his exceptional service and commitment to justice.
With over 16 years in law enforcement, Detective Culligan began his career with the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office before joining Alex City PD as a patrol officer. He later served as a State Trooper in the Marine Patrol Division and returned to Alex City PD, where he rose through the ranks to serve as Corporal, Field Training Coordinator, and now Team Leader of the Special Response Group.
Since joining the detective division in 2022, he has become a key contributor to the department’s 100% homicide arrest rate. Known for his integrity, attention to detail, and dedication to victims and their families, Detective Culligan consistently upholds the highest standards of investigative excellence.
His professionalism and impact make him truly deserving of this honor.
