Calera – The Calera Police Department recovered a stolen pistol from a group of juveniles during a traffic stop on the evening of Tuesday, April 21st.
A member of the Calera Police Department conducted what was expected to be a routine traffic stop for a headlight that was out, however, a situation that could have been a lot more more dangerous was prevented. Three teenagers were in the vehicle were found to be in possession of a pistol that had recently been stolen in Birmingham, along with a drum magazine.
The firearm is currently being processed through NININ to see if it has been used in connection with other crimes.
