Auburn – Two men accused of posing as law enforcement officers to rob an Auburn home have been arrested thousands of miles away, thanks to Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology to identify the suspects’ vehicle and confirm their movement out of Alabama.

Early on September 3rd, Auburn police were called to an East University Drive home to investigate a robbery. The suspects allegedly entered the victims’ residence posing as law enforcement officers, held them at gunpoint and stole valuables.

Auburn police say on September 28th, U.S. Marshals arrested 41-year-old Zealand Jamar Adams of Kent, Washington and 39-year-old Ramiro Vasquez of Chico, California. Both have been charged with four counts of burglary first degree, four counts of robbery first degree, two counts of unlawful imprisonment and one count of impersonating a peace officer. Both are currently awaiting extradition to Alabama.
