Childersburg – According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, an 83-year-old Clanton man died after a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon near Childersburg.
Lewis C. Holmes was critically injured when the 2010 Toyota Highlander he was driving was struck by a 2023 Lincoln Navigator. Holmes was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the Navigator was also injured and taken to UAB Hospital for treatment.
The crash happened about 1:55 p.m. Friday at the intersection of U.S. 280 and Alabama 76, about one mile west of Childersburg’s city limits in Shelby County.
