Alexander City – Hospital leadership and community members gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Russell Medical’s new Henderson Surgery Suite, a $1.5 million addition designed to revolutionize the hospital’s surgical services in Alexander City.
That major new epansion will mean a much more streamlined and comfortable process for patients undergoing surgery, bringing together surgical check-in, physician offices, a dedicated physician lounge, as well as a new chapel located close by to provide a quiet space for families.
Before the new Henderson Surgery Suite, surgical services at Russell Medical were spread across multiple floors and locations throughout the hospital, forcing patients and their families to navigate complex corridors during an already stressful time.
The project was made possible entirely through a generous $1.5 million donation to the Russell Medical Foundation by Dwight and Sherry Henderson.
