Teen arrested in deadly Lee County house party shooting

Lee County – An 18-year-old Phenix City man was taken into custody Monday in connection with a deadly shooting earlier in July at a house party in Lee County.

Raymond Drew Earl has been charged with murder in connection to the July 11th shooting incident in the 800 block of Lee Road 197 during an open house party. Deputies responded and located a man laying in the yard with what appeared to be a gunshot wound in the chest.

The victim, 18-year-old Anthony “Ant” Onochie of Columbus GA, was transported to Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, where he later died.

Lee County Investigators, the Lee County SWAT Team, and members of the US Marshal Service executed a search warrant in the 300 Block of Lee Road 706 in the Beauregard community on July 27th, resulting in Earl’s arrest. He is being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.
