Springville – A Springville company, Fontaine Commercial Trailer Inc., has secured an $18 mi,,iom contract to supply specialized trailers to the U.S. Army. According to a Department of Defense notice, the company will deliver an unspecified number of M172A2 trailers between now and December 31, 2026.
The Army Contracting Command, Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, awarded the contract, bringing the total value of the U.S. Army orders to $51 million. The 25-ton semi-trailer will be used to transport things such as engineering construction equipment, vehicles, disabled equipment construction materials, and miscellaneous other military equipment. They can be moved by highway, rail, water and air, and will feature modern safety mechanisms like an anti-lock braking system.
Fontaine focuses on manufacturing flatbed platform trailers, They feature a division devoted to producing military products.
