Sycamore – Sycamore residents along on Old Cemetery Road are facing failing wells and a lack of access to the Sycamore Water Authority system.
Many of the homes in the neighborhood have depended on individual personal well systems for years, but as many of those wells are failing due to wells collapsing, they are struggling to get the attention of those they hope can address their issue.
A spokesperson for the residents, James Vandergrift says that the problem has existed for quite a while now, with only quick-fix answers that haven’t lasted, “We don’t have running water to be able to cook or anything like that.”
Simple chores like cleaning and bathing mean having to haul water and rely on family for even basics, “It’s a tough problem for too many of us, but I especially worry for elderly neighbors.
