Shelby County jury has convicted a Birmingham decorator of Theft by Deception

Shelby County – A Birmingham decorator has been convicted in Shelby County of theft after authorities say she bilked a client out of thousands of dollars. A Shelby County jury last week convicted 40-year-old Lindsey Erin Davis of first-degree theft by deception, District Attorney Matt Casey announced Friday.

Trial evidence showed that the owner of Tilia Staging and Interiors was given $30,000 for the purpose of furnishing a victims’ home. Though she received the money, she failed to provide any home furnishings and refused to return the victims’ money.

Davis was initially arrested in 2021. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
