Columbiana – Shelby County senior citizens will soon have the chance to enjoy a free day of fun, food, fellowship as well as a host of Earth Day-themed activities during the annual Shelby County Senior Picnic.
Shelby County will host the senior picnic, with the theme “Rooted in Community” on Wednesday, April 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Shelby County Exhibition Center in Columbiana, located at 86 Argo Road in Columbiana.
The event will take place on Earth Day and offer a new twist with botanical decorations and activities, as Shelby County partners with local florists and plant nurseries for potted plants and flowers that will be placed throughout the space and be used as giveaway prizes.
Food at the event will feature a cookout, catered by Tin Top Bar-B-Que and seniors will enjoy live music from local favorite, Act of Congress.
