Montgomery – According to a release from Governor Kay Ivey, five industrial sites across Alabama will receive more than $9.3 million for improvements, aimed at attracting new businesses and jobs.
The funding comes through the Growing Alabama Tax Credit program, which uses private donations to improve publicly owned sites for economic development. Donors receive a tax credit equal to the value of their contributions to approved economic development organizations.
Included in the award was a St Clair County location – Cogswell Industrial Park in Pell City: $1 million for site work and public infrastructure.
Ivey said the investments will help communities compete for new industries and future expansions.
