Chambers County – An East Alabama woman reported missing a week ago was found dead Sunday October 18th.
According to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, the missing mother of two and military wife was found dead about a mile from her home ending a desperate weeklong search. A search team from Central Georgia K9 Search & Rescue located the body of Sarah Barninger on Sunday afternoon.
Barninger’s body was located in a wooded area approximately one mile behind her residence, on property owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in an area that wasn’t accessible by vehicle. The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office reprted that it appears she died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
