Cheaha State Park opens new $28 million lodge

Delta – Alabama’s oldest state park and home to the state’s highest point at over 2,000 feet, Cheaha State Park opens its new lodge this week, includimg three hotel guest towers and a total of 32 rooms.

The $28 million lodge on top of a mountain brought unexpected challenges, such as massive amounts od rock that had to be removed. The lodge was designed with sustainability in mind, using renewable materials such as mass timber. The lodge will still include restaurant, but one that is distinctly different from past models. All of the 32 guest rooms will have bluff-side views, plus a rooftop bar and conference area. It’s modern, yet in keeping with the historic setting, a massive state park property once owned by White-Stick Creek Indian Chief Solocta, granted to him for his help to General Andrew Jackson.

Cheaha State Park is a destination for 200,000 to 300,000 visitors every year with cabins, improved RV camping, primitive camping, and now a brand new luxury lodge. Reservations for the new lodge will open online this week.
