Childersburg – The Childersburg Rescue Squad’s “Ride to the Rescue” fund-raising events are set for Saturday, October 10th in Childersburg, followed by a ride in Lllian to weekend later.
Jim Dennis, who heads up the events as the Captain of the local rescue squad said that safety is a priority for the event’s riders, “We have medics at every rest stop, sag cars behind, extra police presence on the road, good warning signage, and if we need more it will be there. We also have excellent communication with every unit along each route. It’s our goal for you to have a safe and very enjoyable ride.”
In Childersburg, two routes will be set up – a 62 mile and a 32 mile ride, both starting adjacent to Childersburg Elementary School on Pinecrest Drive. The rides will begin at 8:00 a.m. After the event, riders, friends, volunteers, and the public will be treated to all-you-can-eat Brunswick Stew, along with other interesting activities and attractions.
To volunteer to help or register to ride, check in to the “Ride to the Rescue” or “Childersburg Rescue Squad Public Page” facebook groups.
