Sylacauga – Local communities commemorated a combination of the traditional Independence Day and th 250-year anniversary of America over the weekend with unique events.
Mid-day on Independence Day itself, Sylacauga’s Comer Museum expanded its usual holiday gathering to include period costumed characters for a true 250th anniversary celebration, complete with Thomas Jefferson’s recap of the Declaration of Independence.
Outside, the block was adorned with miniature American flags waving, plus free hot dogs, chips, and cold drinks for a traditional 4th of July gathering.
