If you’re up for a road trip, a couple of events in Auburn sure sound fun

Auburn – If you like road trips, there are a couple of events in Auburn this coming weekend that have fun and family-friendly appeal.

Things get srted at 6:00 p.m. on Friday as the Auburn Tigers host a one-of-a-kind Auburn experience with “Mahjong on the Plains.” That’s a weekend designed for fun, connection, and friendly competition at Neville Arena. And play runs all the way through the night, the morning, and until 4:00 in the afternoon for 22-hours og Mahjong.

Join the Auburn Parks and Recreation Department for a fun Saturday filled with food, community and entertainment for Auburn CityFest 2026 on Saturday, April 15th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Keisel Park. This year’s event theme is “Pirates on the Plains.”

Experience nonstop pirate action and adventure as daring performers sword fight, rope slide, and perform breathtaking stunts high above the crowd on a 60-foot Pirate Ship before taking on the world’s only Skull and Crossbones Wheel of Death, a massive 35-foot rotating wheel where pirates balance, run, and battle for treasure, all brought to life with authentic costumes, stunning sets, dramatic lighting, and heart-pounding music for an unforgettable family-friendly spectacle.

There’s lots for the kids under Children’s ArtFest Tent with face painting, arts and crafts, and endless fun for kids of all ages. Learn about fire safety and explore one of Auburn’s Fire trucks up close for an exciting, hands-on experience. From giant slides to rock walls, there’ll be plenty of inflatables, and about a dozen other attractions.

Live music includes the Sons of Sailors, a quite salty Jimmy Buffett tribute band, and the Brokers Band with everything from the Allman Brothers to Michel Jackson tunes. And along with a big crowd, espect a great line-up of food vendors with every taste imaginable.
