Saint Clair County – An Oregon truck driver is being held in the St. Clair County Jail on bonds totaling $1.5 million after authorities say he was hauling nearly 185 pounds of marijuana in his tractor-trailer on an Alabama interstate.

Capt. Jeremy Burkett said that the discovery and subsequent arrest was made Tuesday, March 31st when an Alabama state trooper conducted a commercial motor vehicle inspection on Interstate 20 in St. Clair County. Burkett also reported that the driver produced an invalid driver’s license. He was identified as 57-year-old Dajun Sun and determined to be in the U.S. illegally.

A search of Sun’s truck turned up 23 boxes that contained about 185 pounds of marijuana. Sun is charged with drug trafficking and operating a CMV without a commercial driver’s license.
