Childersburg – The 50-State US250 Tour will bring history and entertainment to Childersburg for its stop in Childersburg in April.
A national celebration of our founding and freedom – bringing history to life in all 50 states through events, art, music, and patriotic action. 50 states, 50 weeks, 50,000 miles, 250 million people, 250 years in the making. And it will come to Childersburg on the weekend of April 11th & 12th.
In downtown Childersburg, the Freedom Village will be located in the First Baptist parking lot both days from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. This free event will feature a local stage for live entertainment, a great line-up of historic re-enactments and display booths. Patrick Henry will be there representing our founding fathers, There’ll be bounce houses, all sorts of arts & crafts vendors from across the southeast, plus food vendors galore!
“The point of the tour is to reignite a sense of patriotism for the nation’s first 250 years,” explained organizer, Tony Griffith. “It’s a totally non-partisan event for friends and neighbors to enjoy, hopefully reaching the younger generation, to be inspired to an understanding of being American.”
While that will all happen again on Sunday, First Baptist will add a special worship service that morning. And after 5:00 p.m., the attention moves to the old John Cox Stadium for a star-studded musical extravaganza, starting at 6:00 p.m. with Natasha Owens, Kaitlyn Crocker, Griffith, and the headliner, country star, Easton Corbin!
That Sunday evening performance will have an admission charge of $25 and $40 for preferred seating, but children under 13 are free with a paid adult.
