Alexander City – The Alexander City Police Department say that their office, along with the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Dadeville Police Departments, seized 32 illegal gambling machines during a raid this week.
After they received multiple complaints of illegal gambling located at a business in the 1400 block of Hillabee Street in Alexander City, officers executed a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of those 32 gambling machines and a large sum of money, which were taken as evidence.
The Alabama Attorney General’s Office is now handling the investigation of numerous complaints of illegal gambling at other locations. Authorities said that anyone found in possession of the gambling devices could face possible jail time and/or fines.
