Opelika – A deadly shooting is under investigation at Arbor Place Apartments on Fox Run Parkway in Opelika. Emergency crews responded around 10:56 a.m. Wednesday, March 25.
Authorities confirm one person has died. A person of interest is in custody. The scene remains active as investigators work to gather details. The initial report to the Opelika Police was that of of an active shooter at Arbor Place Apartments on Fox Run Parkway. Upon arrival, officers located one victim in a vehicle with gunshot wounds.
When the call came in, four Opelika City Schools were placed on lockdown to ensure the safety of the students. Once it was confirmed that the suspect was in custody, the lockdown was lifted
