Columbiana – A proposed data center in Columbiana project would be located on the site of an old foundry where a brand-new building would house servers and coolers at 130 Industrial Parkway would sit on 17 acres of land.
Columbiana city leaders say the project is significantly smaller than typical data centers, and advocates say the process is playing out differently too. There are fewer procedural hurdles to jump through, and there is no room for future expansion. The developer, DigiPowerX has been in Columbiana since 2022. They already meet business license criteria and are zoned accordingly. Even environmental advocates say there is more transparency in the Columbiana situation.
