Riverside – Reports of a vehicle in the Coosa River have led to the discovery of a body in near Riverside in St Clair County. Officers were dispatched around 7:45 a.m. on Friday, January 16 to the area of Riverbend Road near U.S. Highway 78. They located a partially submerged vehicle in the water and observed a body inside.
The body was recovered by the Pell City Police Department Dive Team and has been identified as Deepamat Sodhi, a Riverside resident. Surveillance footage from a nearby business shows the vehicle leaving a parking lot around 11:30 p.m. on January 15. The vehicle then made a wide right turn onto Riverbend Road, left the roadway, and entered the water.
