A Shelby County addiction recovery facility has won state approval

Sterrett – It has been “in the works” for two years now, and a proposed Shelby County addiction recovery facility has won state approval. Development planning will begin immediately for Longleaf Lodge, a 60-bed facility on a 150-acre horse farm near Sterrett in Shelby County.

According to Longleaf Recovery and Wellness, the Longleaf Lodge has received Certificate of Need (CON) approval from the Alabama State Health Planning and Development Agency. Plans call for it to open in early 2027. Longleaf Lodge will include 10 medically-monitored detox beds and 50 residential treatment beds in a setting designed to support residential treatment.
