Sylacauga – According to the Sylacauga Police Department, a female juvenile was injured in a shooting incident Saturday night.
Officers responded at 7:49 p.m. Saturday to a call about the shooting in the Drew Court Community, where they discovered that an outside vehicle had been stuck by gunfire and learned that a juvenile had been shot inside the house.
The juvenile victim was taken to Coosa Valley Medical Center before being transported to Children’s of Alabama, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not released information on a suspect or the prospects of an arrest. They ask that those with information on the case to call the Sylacauga Police Department Investigations Division or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
